Qualifications:
The candidate should be a Post Graduate in Social Sciences or related field with experience. PG/PGD in Public Health and or Community Medicine or Management from recognized institutions. He/She should have at least 5-7 years work experience in the health and HIV/AIDS sector of which a minimum of three or five years in the position specific field.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Capacity Building is a critical component of NACP-III that aims to strengthen the quality of services through training of program managers, health care professionals, health care advisors and functionaries of various governmental departments at national, state and district level. Targeted Intervention is by far the largest program under NACP 3 and is implemented in all the states through the NGOs. In Maharashtra State, there are over 150 NGOs implementing TI programs. Targeted Intervention component is a key component under National AIDS Control Organization (NACO). Training of the various personnel of the NGOs including peer educators implementing TI programs is critical to reverse the epidemic.
The Team Leader, Capacity Building (TI) will manage the capacity building activities of the TI programs in coordination with the SACS / DACS.
Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- Periodically, conduct training needs assessment and develop capacity building curriculum plans to train over 150 NGOs on core skills in targeted intervention, staff of link workers and DAPCU programs.
- Assist SACS in the selection of a State Training Resource Centre (STRC) to organize training programs on TI.
- In the interim, coordinate the training programs through the 10 training institutions identified for conducting training programs.
- Develop training modules on targeted intervention programs based on the needs.
- Monitoring and evaluate the quality of training programs using systematic evaluation procedures.
- Prepare progress and other technical reports of capacity building activities in Maharashtra.
- Pilot innovative strategies in training to avoid redundancy and saturation of information imparted in training.
- Assisting SACS, in the development of Annual Action Plan- training component for TIs.
- Assist in the documentation of best practices in capacity building activities.
- Utilize other partners as resource persons for the trainings held for TI NGO staff.
