Capacity Building of Avert funded NGOs

Training of Trainers for Peer Education, three events were organized for the staff of Avert funded NGOs with the support of BIRDS HIV Training network Centre. The workshop was planned to improve the skills, information level of the project staff so that they can systematize their peer training and in turn improve the quality of peers and the project. The three trainings in Communication Skills Building Workshop for staff of Avert funded NGOs was organized with technical support from JHU. The focus of the workshop was to improve communication skills while working with high risk groups. The inputs on barriers of communication, BCC, one to one and one to group session, clarifying personal perception, types of communication was provided.
Three Training workshops on Counseling were organized for the staff of Avert funded NGO’s working in the field of Care & Support and Work Place Intervention and Targeted Intervention in collaboration with Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The training helped counselors with inputs and improve their skill in counseling.
A study is launched on Needs Assessment of Municipal Corporation and Municipalities of Maharashtra. The training of investigators is completed and data collection is started with the support Centre for Operation Research & Training. On the basis of the final report a strategy for capacity building will be formulated.
Capacity Building of Health Care Staff for TB-HIV Coordination: Pilot Project in Pune district. The T B HIV Training Manual is developed in collaboration with TB Control Society. The aim of the project is to bring about coordination between the AIDS and TB Control Program, so as to effectively combat the problem of AIDS and TB.
