Capacity Building is a cross cutting strategy, for strengthening institutional and individual capacities to respond to HIV/AIDS and STI.

Avert Society emphasizes upon capacity building at several levels, by empanelling institutions, agencies and consultants. At the grass root level sub-grantees/organizations are provided with regular support to strengthen their organizations for implementing the project, to increase the capacity of the staff, by providing skills on program management, implementation of core strategies and core skills.
 
At the state level it focuses on building the capacity of the institutions, municipal organizations, Health Care Providers (HCPs, Nurses) community groups (including PLHIVs, self help groups and collectives), CBO formation and in the public and private sectors.
