Monitoring & Evaluation/Research
Avert Society adopts evidence-based planning, and has formed a Technical Resource Group that acts as an advisory body to guide Strategic Information initiatives.

The Society works in close collaboration with USAID & NACO, and provides technical support to MSACS, MDACS through TSU & its partner NGOs.

Strategic Information also aids in monitoring & evaluating partner intervention activities, while providing necessary support for the program. Data from various sources like HIV Sentinel Surveillance, Behavioral Surveillance Survey, service uptake from ICTC, ART Centers and other service providers are being analyzed to guide the program.

The capacity of partner NGOs have been built in conducting Mapping, Situational Needs Assessment and Management Information Systems.

Need assessment aids in program planning, followed by periodic monitoring to direct the intervention. Periodic participatory site visits and experience, sharing and review meetings provide valuable insights into the quality of the program, beside the regular M.I.S. which measures the program performance on quantitative terms.

Beside these regular activities under the Strategic Information gathering initiative, various large scale studies have been undertaken by Avert Society. These include:
  • High Risk Group Mapping Study in 22 and 12 districts of Maharashtra.
  • Behavioral Surveillance Survey (BSS) - Wave II, III, IV.
  • Health Care Provider Study (HCPS) - Round II, III.
  • Facility Survey of the VCTCs.
  • Situational Analysis of Workplace Intervention.
