Screening And Diagnosis
HIV testing is carried out on a voluntary basis with appropriate pre-test and post-test counselling. HIV
is diagnosed by testing your blood for the presence of antibodies
to the virus.
Most often, a simple blood test known as an
enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) screening test is conducted. The results of HIV tests are kept confidential.
